th St, Baltimore, MD, 21201-2724 I take photos for myself, for fun, and also to sell. I don't have a large number of prints, but many. I like to keep things small (if I was a musician, I would have a large gallery). I sell prints of my work, usually portraits. General Description About the artist - Jeff Kemp is an emerging artist whose work is both abstract and representational. Kemp’s work frequently explores the possibility of finding a place of refuge through nature. His paintings, particularly of the natural world, emphasize the dual nature of paint - as a reflective surface and as a vehicle for an expression of abstract form. Though he comes from a landscape design background, Kemp’s paintings are often large abstract explorations that move away from the hand-painted realism of his earlier works. To date, his work has been exhibited in over 50 shows in the United States, and has been the focus of numerous solo exhibitions. Recently Kemp’s work has also been the subject of group exhibitions at the National Academy Museum, the Corcoran Museum of Art, the Phillips Collection and the National Gallery of Art. Kemp was born in Wilton, N.C., on the campus of his alma mater, the North Carolina School of the Arts, in 1978. He received his B.A. in Communications Design from the North Carolina School of the Arts in 2000. His art studies at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill focused on Studio Art and Painting. After graduating, Kemp moved to New York City and received an MFA from the College of Visual Arts and Design at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He currently lives and works in Baltimore, Maryland. This artist has not yet signed up for ArtSlant's Collector program. Have you visited this artist?
